Mosman Project
In this stunning home boasting captivating views, our lighting design vision was to seamlessly complement its modern interior concept. The centerpiece of this residence is a remarkable skylight located at its heart. Our goal was to enhance its appeal both during the day, basking in natural light, and at night, using discreet miniature downlights artfully integrated into the vertical walls to craft an illuminated halo effect, akin to a softly lit skylight, with no visible light source from the exterior.
Throughout the residence, we artfully incorporated in-set plaster downlights to deliver a gentle yet ample illumination, meticulously curated to accentuate the client's cherished artworks. These plaster downlights, once seamlessly integrated into the modern ceiling, seamlessly merge with it, creating an uninterrupted visual experience. By recessing the downlights deeper into the ceiling, we elevated the ceiling line, ensuring an unobstructed view.
In addition to the plaster downlights, we proposed the use of low-level plaster lights strategically placed throughout the home, forging a gentle, illuminated path through the space. Utilizing pin lights, we thoughtfully highlighted the rich textures of stone and timber walls and slats. Uplighters were thoughtfully employed to emphasize the architectural details of the ceilings while offering an alternative downward and ambient lighting solution
